Seventy-seven percent say the organization’s record of having published inaccurate or false information is very important, and 53% say the same about the frequency with which organizations make mistakes. The two highest-rated factors - both rated as very important by more than eight in 10 respondents - are a commitment to accuracy (89%) and quickly and openly correcting mistakes (86%). However, they did not express much greater trust in news sources that have a reputation for a partisan leaning consistent with their own. Both Republicans and Democrats were less likely to trust news sources with a partisan reputation that opposes their own.
